I will always have this piece of my heart that smiles when I think about you.

“Idgie came into my life unexpectedly, but without hesitation. I could tell she was going to be a sassy girl full of life and energy, my little tomboy.  She may have lost her eye quite young, but that never slowed her, not for a second. She was always running and playing, and on occasion she would stop to smell the flowers.  She didn’t need anyone to play with, she could entertain herself for hours doing zoomies in the backyard.. Her wiggly tail, her sassy bark, her snuggly cuddles, her hanging off of brother Bruces face, are all things that come to mind, all things that make me smile…..

Then as unexpectedly as she entered, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge….Taken from me, from us, far too soon.  Idgie taught me to live each day full of life, love and happiness… She will forever be in my heart and live on in my memories..” – Mom, Keri

Lilly was adopted from a Police co-worker at 10 months old, as their newborn was unexpectedly allergic. The following 13 years of my life included me and Lilly joined at the hip, travelling and visiting all her peeps and fans. Lilly was a crazy socialite who adapted to any new home, people or dogs. She got picked on by magpies, but in Lilly style, she just ignored them with a “Pfthh..”. A fussy eater, obscenely stubborn, incessantly demanding, but never a more gentle heart and affectionate ball busting personality, and I would not have it any other way. My life revolved around the Ms. November ASPCA calendar model, taking her to work at the Police station, where she would graciously socialize with Police members and glare at prisoners. I had the best partner and most adorable daughter, and we lived in a penthouse deemed by friends as the “Lilly Pad”. My place has since grown silent, as my former home has abruptly become just a place for me to live now. But I do have this image of Lilly in Heaven lounging, chomping on a cigar and swirling a cognac, and laughing like the Penguin from Batman. If we all could just be as happy and loving as my Lilly. – Dad, Patrick
